About The Position

The EHS Specialist supports Global Power Components’ commitment to providing a safe, compliant, and high-performing manufacturing environment. This role enhances safety and environmental processes across GPC's large-scale fabrication and assembly operations. This role requires close collaboration with management and departmental leaders to develop safety protocols, conduct hazard assessments, and promote a culture of safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a similar role, particularly within manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific safety/environmental (OSHA, EPA) standards (local, state, federal, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support consistent and effective safety messaging across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and safety management software.
  • Willingness and ability to work all shifts, including weekends, when required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and generate comprehensive reports.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety audits to identify and minimize safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct safety training for employees and management on various safety topics and best practices tailored to the organizational needs.
  • Deliver training for new hires, annual requirements, and job specific procedures.
  • Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and make recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Manage programs such as lockout/tagout, confined space, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, hazard communication, and PIT safety.
  • Safety Committee collaboration, lead employee meetings, collaborate to promote safety awareness and encourage employee engagement.
  • Emergency response planning, evacuation protocols, fire drills, and emergency lighting.
