About The Position

The onsite Environment Health & Safety Profession will work in collaboration with the CAE USA EHS team and serve as a site subject matter expert for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment, and implementing safety programs and policies at the CAE USA Tampa location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a heavy manufacturing or aviation industry setting.
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
  • Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.
  • Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.
  • Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know.
  • Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.
  • All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

  • Strong knowledge of US health and safety regulations (lock out tag out, fall protection, machine guarding, power industrial trucks).

Responsibilities

  • Create and update EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist management with fostering a safety culture that helps to maintain compliance to set programs.
  • Perform regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors to promote a culture of safety.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and report any non-compliance issues.
  • Work closely with site management and individual business units to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Foster awareness on EHS lessons-learned at the site level by holding meetings or reviews.
