About The Position

The Environmental Health & Safety Manager provides strategic direction and oversight for environmental health and safety, workers’ compensation, and loss prevention. Promotes discipline, accountability, and best practices to improve safety, cost performance, compliance, and employee relations. The EHS Manager will work in conjunction with Dynabrade’s leadership team to ensure the health and safety of all employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field required.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of progressive EHS experience.
  • Detailed communicator, experience training, with crisis and conflict management skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft programs, internet, and database systems.
  • Manufacturing experience required.
  • Requires excellent communication interaction skills.
  • Good conceptual thinking and endurance is a must.
  • High level of diplomacy and the ability to relate to people in all types of positions.
  • Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively with people at all levels within the organization.
  • Knowledge of customer base, manufacturing processes and capabilities, company products, technology and financial requirements.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • CSP and/or CIH preferred.
  • OSHA Outreach trainer certification preferable.
  • Common knowledge and experience with safety equipment and practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for health and safety, workers’ compensation, loss control, and environmental matters.
  • Recommend EHS, workers’ compensation, and loss prevention objectives; develop short- and long-term plans, programs, and supporting budgets; and direct their execution.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee effective EHS management systems companywide.
  • Collaborate with other departments to define and fulfill shared responsibilities.
  • Lead cost-reduction and continuous-improvement initiatives for EHS, workers’ compensation, and loss prevention.
  • Represent Dynabrade Group publicly on EHS, workers’ compensation, and loss prevention matters.
  • Lead EHS and risk management due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Maintain benchmarking practices that identify and support companywide adoption of best methods.
  • Develop and maintain an audit function to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Ensure manufacturing equipment is properly installed and in safe working order.
  • Ensure effective regulatory review and oversight.
