About The Position

T BAILEY LLC is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety initiatives across their shop fabrication, coating operations, and field construction projects. This role requires a hands-on approach, focusing on building a strong safety culture and influencing safety practices in a heavy industrial, structural steel, and field-erected tank construction environment. The ideal candidate will be present and visible on job sites and in the shop, working alongside experienced builders and leadership to ensure safety is integrated into all operations. This is not a desk-bound compliance role but a leadership position with influence over how safety is managed.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of safety experience, or a combination of formal education in OHS, Industrial Hygiene, or equivalent and hands-on experience.
  • 5+ years in construction or manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards, Army Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1, and multi-state regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with environmental compliance, including SWPPP, air quality permits, and spill prevention.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training (written, verbal, and in the field).
  • Strong organizational skills for tracking certifications, maintaining records, and managing tasks.
  • Proficiency in EHS software, incident tracking platforms, and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • CESCL, CSP, CIH, or CHMM certifications.
  • Experience with agency coordination for environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and improve safety and health policies across the company, covering both shop and field operations.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Travel to job sites to conduct audits, deliver training, and serve as a visible safety presence.
  • Lead and conduct safety training sessions, managing certification records and refresher needs.
  • Coordinate environmental compliance, including SWPPP, SARA Title III, NW Clean Air, Tier II reporting, and spill response.
  • Manage the OSHA 300 Log, prepare site-specific safety manuals, and respond to agency inspections.
  • Support industrial coatings operations by managing exposure controls, respiratory protection, ventilation, and hygiene monitoring.
  • Run monthly safety committee meetings and conduct weekly company safety meetings.
  • Partner with operations, project management, and HR to integrate EHS goals into business operations.
  • Ensure compliance with multi-state regulations, workers' compensation reporting, and varying regulatory environments across operational regions (Washington, Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Hawaii).
