About The Position

AMSOIL INC. is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager at our AMSOIL Center location in Superior, WI! We are looking for a strategic and people-focused EHS leader who takes pride in building scalable systems, developing high-performing teams, and driving a proactive, behavior-based safety culture across the organization. This role is critical to establishing and sustaining a world-class safety and environmental program at AMSOIL. The Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for shaping the vision, systems, and culture that protect our employees and ensure regulatory compliance across all operations. By leading a team of EHS professionals, partnering with cross-functional leadership, and proactively managing risk, this role directly impacts employee well-being, operational excellence, and long-term business success. From enterprise-wide program development to culture transformation and regulatory strategy, this position ensures AMSOIL remains safe, compliant, and positioned for continued growth.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in EHS within a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience, including managing or developing EHS professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, ISO 14001, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and scale EHS programs and systems.
  • Experience managing environmental compliance, reporting, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead culture change and transition organizations to proactive safety practices.
  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and root cause investigation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to build relationships, coach leaders, and drive accountability across teams.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that prepares you to succeed in this role is also welcomed.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, or CIH are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of EHS Specialists—building capability, accountability, and engagement across the organization.
  • Act as a visible leader on the production floor, coaching leaders and reinforcing a strong, behavior-based safety culture.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, HR, and leadership teams to embed safety into daily operations and decision-making.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain company-wide EHS programs, policies, and systems aligned with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all required EHS systems, documentation, and processes are maintained, controlled, and consistently followed across operations.
  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement of EHS programs to enhance effectiveness and scalability.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action effectiveness across all locations.
  • Lead risk identification, mitigation strategies, and Management of Change (MOC) processes for new equipment, materials, and processes.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and successful execution.
  • Own environmental compliance programs, including permits, reporting, inspections, and regulatory interactions.
  • Lead and maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001 standards.
  • Oversee environmental and sustainability reporting, including ESG initiatives and greenhouse gas data tracking.
  • Ensure systems for inspections, drills, contingency planning, and emergency response are in place and effective.
  • Ensure companywide EHS training programs are developed, implemented, and compliant with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Promote clarity, consistency, and engagement through effective communication of EHS expectations and performance.
  • Partner with leaders and teams to build ownership and accountability for safety at all levels.
  • Own EHS metrics, dashboards, and reporting to provide insight into performance, trends, and risk.
  • Analyze data to drive continuous improvement, reduce risk, and strengthen overall EHS performance.
  • Identify emerging risks and proactively adapt programs to align with evolving regulations and industry best practices.
