About The Position

Archer Meat Snacks—the #1 jerky brand in the Natural and Specialty Channel—is looking for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety initiatives across our high-growth manufacturing operations. In this role, you’ll oversee all safety and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA/Cal-OSHA standards while championing a culture of safety throughout the facility. You will collaborate closely with Operations, HR, and site leadership to reduce risk, improve training, and create effective safety systems that protect our people and our business. We’re seeking a hands-on, proactive safety leader who thrives on the production floor, understands the unique demands of food manufacturing, and can balance compliance, coaching, and continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA/Cal-OSHA regulations, NFPA, ANSI, and safety best practices
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, safety management systems, and inspection equipment
  • Strong analytical skills with experience evaluating data and identifying trends
  • Ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspect facilities to identify and reduce safety, health, and environmental risks
  • Develop and implement company-wide inspection policies, procedures, and safety programs
  • Lead, document, and refine OSHA/Cal-OSHA programs and SOPs
  • Coach and train team members to strengthen the site’s safety culture
  • Deliver required safety training, including emergency procedures, LOTO, hearing conservation, forklift certification, CPR/First Aid, and more
  • Spend at least 50% of time on the production floor assessing hazards and partnering with managers on corrective actions
  • Maintain and track key EHS performance metrics (TRIR, DART, audit results, etc.)
  • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans
  • Maintain Workers’ Compensation injury records, OSHA 300 logs, and state/federal compliance documentation
  • Oversee hazardous waste, pollutants, and MSDS documentation
  • Partner with HR on return-to-work processes and injury case management
  • Manage site safety committees, including the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and S.E.E. Committee
  • Support emergency preparedness planning, drills, and protocols
  • Stay current on proposed and existing federal and state EHS regulations
  • Perform additional safety and compliance duties as needed
