About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and management of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, projects, and initiatives at the Vertiv Pelzer facility. This role provides strategic direction to the Pelzer management team for risk mitigation, safety best practices, and continuous improvement efforts to drive a zero-injury culture. Ensures strict adherence to all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent EHS experience.
  • 3-5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing; warehousing/kitting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT hazardous materials shipping regulations; Federal DOT and NFPA 70E familiarity a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence management to integrate safe practices into daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Champion safety as a core Vertiv value and foster a positive safety culture.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute EHS initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with Learning and Development to design and deliver required EHS training.
  • Maintain site safety documentation, including SDS, JSA, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Oversee incident and injury reporting per OSHA and Vertiv standards.
  • Ensure compliance with EPA requirements (hazardous/non-hazardous waste, stormwater, SARA Title III, EPCRA reporting, wastewater discharge, SPCC Plans, etc.).
  • Manage Hazmat shipping registration and vendor contracts.
  • Maintain EHS data collection and reporting systems for KPIs and metrics.
  • Align EHS metrics and best practices with the Vertiv Operating System (VOS).
  • Validate new equipment, machines, and workstations for regulatory and Vertiv safety standards.
  • Advise senior leadership on facility risks, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor environmental impacts per Vertiv policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Lead employee safety committees and promotional activities.
  • Manage Workers' Compensation claims and hearings.
  • Support Emergency and Crisis Management Response and local MERT programs.
  • Availability for occasional off-shift work and travel for training or audits.
