Techniplas has long-term relationships with many of the world’s leading automotive and industrial OEMs. SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Regional Environmental Health & Safety Manager oversees the management, direction, and coordination of safety and environmental activities over four facilities. This role involves creating and managing within the facility and developing and implementing programs that ensure consistency throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • BS in Occupational Safety & Health or related discipline. (May substitute equivalent demonstrated competency.
  • 5-10 years of safety process experience in manufacturing. Injection molding experience a plus.
  • Environmental compliance experience (CAA, CWA, RCRA, SPCC, ISO 14001)
  • A track record of proactively implementing successful safety initiatives.
  • Ability to lead and develop direct reports.
  • Critical thinking, participative management, and project management.
  • Excellent understanding of state and federal safety regulations.
  • Ability to facilitate process improvement projects to reduce risk.
  • Ability to guide teams in the incident learning process.
  • Ability to customize safe operating procedures through interaction with affected work groups.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills enable effective communication with employees, line management, upper management, support functions, and community members including local emergency response personnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Desire to learn manufacturing processes and be involved in improvement activities other than those related to safety.
  • Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, especially within SharePoint and Teams. PowerBI, and DAX are a plus.
  • Must be able to move about inside the office and inside and outside of the plant.
  • May operate a vehicle when traveling to other facilities, customers, suppliers, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with and/or working knowledge of human and organizational performance (Learning teams, Safety II, Safety Differently) is a plus.
  • Injection molding experience a plus.
  • Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, especially within SharePoint and Teams. PowerBI, and DAX are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the environmental, sustainability and safety process within the assigned plant(s).
  • Contributes and aids in the implementation of companywide EH&S programs and activities.
  • Develops procedures for compliance to state, federal and customer environmental, sustainability and safety and health standards and assists plant staff with implementation.
  • Ensures adherence to local, state, federal and customer environmental requirements. This includes tasks such as stormwater inspections, air, and carbon emission tracking, conducting necessary training, drills, corrective action team involvement, etc.
  • Interprets/explains/adapts corporate policies and procedures and assists plant staff in policy implementation.
  • Leads the incident learning process.
  • Participates with human resources in the worker’s compensation and return to work process.
  • Develop, Track and Present effective KPI’s that reflect status of location in EHS system.
  • Provides effective training and education in safe work practices.
  • Ensures maintenance and organization of required documentation and reviews periodically to ensure the documentation adds value.
  • Conduct operational risk analysis and maintains regular presence on the plant floor.
  • Leads the continuous improvement process for risk reduction.
  • Establishes trusting, professional relationships with managers, supervisors, and the hourly workforce.
  • Acts as the facility’s environmental “expert” and emergency response leader.
  • Collaborates with multiple departments on sustainability initiatives defined within the Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Manages regulatory and system inspections and findings (OSHA, EPA, ISO 14002, 45001, 9001, Internal and external auditing)
