About The Position

Performs Environmental, Health & Safety functions at the company plant. In performing functions, duties or tasks, employees are required to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of Company policies and procedures related to Environmental, Health & Safety rules and regulations. All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable Company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, OSHA/EPA regulations or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and Microsoft office proficient.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of vendors, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in engineering/safety/EH&S or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Must have completed 10+ credits with an average GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must hold only U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship or other nationalities permitted).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and assist in safety meetings
  • Coordinates and assists in training
  • Help maintain the EHS platform (Gensuite)
  • Filing and recordkeeping of EHS documentation
  • Track all necessary training using the internal tracking system
  • Prepare necessary documents/packs for upcoming audits (e.g. OSHA/EPA)
  • Revise and update EHS policies and procedures
  • Assist with implementation of EHS Regional initiatives
  • Perform JSA, Risk Analysis, Investigations, and implementation of corrective actions
  • Perform EHS audits
  • SPCC Plan
  • Tank Inspections
  • Complying with AQMD permit
  • Stormwater and Industrial Wastewater sampling
  • Tracking of hazardous waste/disposal
  • Coordinates and assists in training
