About The Position

The HSE Consultant provides temporary technical expertise, mentoring, and training support to the Orlando Environmental, Health & Safety program. The primary purpose of the role is to accelerate the development of the Orlando HSE Manager while strengthening regulatory compliance, ISO management systems, employee training, and continuous improvement initiatives. The consultant will transfer knowledge and establish sustainable processes that remain in place after the engagement concludes. This is a temporary contract (2-3 days/week).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, ASP, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience in manufacturing, aerospace, aviation, or industrial operations.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and FAA regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering HSE training.
  • Excellent coaching, communication, and documentation skills.

  • This position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mentoring and coaching within the HSE function.
  • Develop, update, and deliver HSE training programs for employees, supervisors, and leaders.
  • Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, FAA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and applicable corporate requirements.
  • Review and improve HSE policies, procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Support environmental compliance activities, waste management, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop safety communications, toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and engagement activities.
  • Support emergency response planning, drills, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Assist with contractor safety and visitor safety processes.
  • Support integration of Product Safety reporting within the site's HSE processes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational risk reduction.
  • Prepare documentation required for internal and external audits.
  • Transfer knowledge and develop documentation to enable long-term self-sufficiency.
