About The Position

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment through employee training, workplace inspections, hazard and risk assessments, incident investigations, and ongoing safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in Safety Management roles
  • 3+ years in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA and other relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must possess high organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and establish effective work priorities in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA and other applicable federal, state and local regulations.
  • Conduct workplace risk assessments and hazard assessments to identify potential safety hazards and recommend appropriate corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Conduct and document accident, injury and near miss investigations, including identifying contributing factors, determining corrective actions, and following up to help prevent reoccurrence.
  • Manage and maintain any reporting requirements and regulatory filings.
  • Develop and conduct safety trainings, including both classroom instructions and hands-on practical training.
  • Provide refresher and follow-up trainings at appropriate intervals to ensure continued employee competency.
  • Monitor and analyze safety data and trends, including incidents, near misses, injuries, training results, and inspection findings, to identify recurring hazards and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Management, Human Resources, Supervisors, and employees to promote a safe work environment, address safety concerns, and support continuous improvement of the company's safety program.
  • Serve as the primary company liaison with insurance carriers, auditors, inspectors, consultants, and other external partners, coordinating communication, documentation, inspections, and follow-up activities as needed.
