About The Position

This position will be responsible for providing leadership and supporting the development and implementation of environmental, health & safety compliance programs for the Fairless and Garrison plants. The role involves analyzing and submitting environmental reports, managing regulatory compliance notifications, and overseeing recordkeeping for EHS compliance. It also includes managing injury and near-miss incidents, ensuring employees are trained on EHS procedures, and promoting safe working conditions and practices. The EHS Manager will interact with external agencies as a representative of the plant and the company.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience working with and providing oversight of environmental and safety compliance at power plants or other industrial locations.
  • Familiarity with EPA, state and Federal OSHA or MSHA regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple activities at one time.
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent written and oral communication skills, including procedures development and implementation.
  • Experience with delivering communications and training related to EHS compliance, corrective actions, lessons learned, etc.
  • Experience with OSHA VPP program management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills.
  • Preferred experience with Learning Management System.
  • Preferred experience with Maximo, CMMS system, used for EHS reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, prepare, and submit all environmental reports.
  • Prepare, plan, and submit all regulatory compliance notifications.
  • Manage recordkeeping and programs required for EHS regulatory compliance.
  • Manage injury and near miss incidents, including reporting to the company, investigations, and learnings.
  • Ensure plant employees are properly trained on permits and all company EHS procedures and policies.
  • Maintain awareness of safe working conditions and practice safe work habits in all activities.
  • Educate and promote safe work practices and programs.
  • Interact with external agencies as representative of the plant and the company.
  • Resolve technical issues to ensure EHS compliance.
  • Manage projects related to EHS.
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, serving as the primary plant liaison.
