About The Position

The EHS Coordinator performs multiple tasks, supporting many disciplines within the Specialty Machinery Moving group to help ensure that all areas are working professionally and without risk of personal injury or impact to the facilities and equipment. Primary responsibility is to support the incident and injury- free field operation of the regional office site and promotion of MEI’s safety culture. Support MEI Site Safety Manager, management staff, site tool install teams, and customer (Site Specific, Protocol, Forklift, Etc.). Assist with site incident prevention program (SIPP), Confined Space, HASCOM, Safety Data Sheets (SDS’s), and other applicable safety regulations. Conduct routine site audits of all equipment, materials, work practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with site safety protocol. Conduct daily audits and approval of Pre-task plans. Conduct routine inspections and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes in  working areas, to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards, as well as customer’s site protocol. Address and document all safety incidents and/or violations by MEI personnel immediately. Must have the willingness and ability to effectively communicate in a professional manor to all site personnel when coaching is necessary. Attend site safety meetings as time allows. Additional duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to partner with employees at all levels and with various personality styles.
  • Ability to obtain understanding of applicable legal requirements (i.e. Codes, Standards and Administrative Policies) via research techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability working independently and collectively, assertive, organized, detail oriented, punctual, and highly self-motivated.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Microsoft Office Suite to include: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point preferred.
  • Current OSHA 30 in construction and/or OSHA 510 preferred.
  • EHS experience preferably within the heavy construction industry in a multi-site & multi-state organization and CHST preferred.
  • Associates degree or student in occupational safety, or similar area of student, or equivalent years of experience preferred.
