About The Position

The Environmental Health Safety (EH&S) Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Environmental Health Safety Manager with tasks related to safety and environmental hazards in the workplace as well as administrative needs for recordkeeping, audits, permits, and worker’s compensation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, safety, or related field
  • 2 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment leading environmental and safety compliance
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload
  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulations including but not limited to CT Workers Compensation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining Environmental Health & Safety programs, procedures, practices and training for the site(s) as determined.
  • Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and standards as promulgated by all local, state and federal agencies through development and implementation of on-site inspection and monitoring programs/processes.
  • Coordinates the activities of the Site Safety Committees and serves as the technical resource.
  • Consults, advises and works collaboratively with site leadership regarding issues, problems, programs, processes and systems in the areas of safety and health.
  • Keeps current on changing environmental, health and safety laws and regulations (federal, state, local) and advises leadership on their impact (or potential) to the business operations.
  • Promotes effective communication programs to enhance and encourage member awareness of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with review of accidents and incidents which occur along with assisting with reporting the corrective actions.
  • Maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety
  • Conducting risk assessments related to jobs performed by employees and suggests risk mitigation strategies through the Risk Assessment process.
