About The Position

To assist the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager in planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to ensure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. Works closely with plant personnel, including supervisors and employees.

Requirements

  • Associate-degree or equivalent, required.
  • Proficient in training methodologies, curriculum development and soft skills (communication skills, critical thinking, time management, team building, etc.)
  • Strong organizational, planning, project management, problem resolution, communication, presentation, facilitation, and motivational skills required.
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • High energy, enthusiastic, motivational training style.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer literate with in-depth knowledge of MS office, web-based systems, and visual aids technology.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one year of EHS experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining OSHA and EPA compliance with mandates from Corporate.
  • Duties include planning and organizing training, conducting training, maintaining training documentation and certifications.
  • Assist with EHS program implementation and the use of EHS compliance applications.
  • Assist with conducting accident investigations, reporting using company applications, assist with root cause analysis, corrective actions, focusing on incident reduction and working to meet and improve incident rates.
  • Help identify and evaluate hazardous conditions in the workplace, conduct and coordinate daily rounds to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
  • Provide advice and counseling to employees, visitors and contractors for all compliance regulations.
  • Oversee regulatory inspections are completed, such as fire extinguishers, eyewash, and shower stations, area inspections, egress, and exit signs, environmental program inspections, and other regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Conduct safety and hazardous material inspections and maintain inspection documents and verifications.
  • Assist with environmental compliance reports, sampling, and any inspection mandates.
  • Assist in maintaining and executing site awareness and incentive programs, including corrective actions and tracking sustainability and utility reduction projects.
  • Assist with maintenance of Safety Committee.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
