About The Position

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Co-op provides support to the EHS team in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs that promote a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. This hands-on role provides real-world experience in a dynamic prototype and manufacturing environment for a student while earning their degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Engineering, or a related field. The EHS Co-op contributes to various EHS initiatives and continuous improvements across the organization.

Requirements

Undergraduate student working towards an Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or other relevant degree.
Must be able to work between 15-29 hours per week.
Must possess and maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
Must fulfill 24 credit hours in one calendar year.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
Exceptional phone etiquette and capacity to always provide exceptional customer service.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

Co-op students may be eligible to work up to 4 years if enrolled in a college or university and fulfill the criteria noted above.

Responsibilities

Assist in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments in both production and office environments to ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal policies.
Support the development, coordination, and delivery of EHS training materials, including new hire orientation, refresher training, and safety campaigns.
Participate in incident investigations and monitors the implementation and completion of corrective actions.
Maintain and update EHS documentation, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventories, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records, and compliance logs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and reinforce a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the organization.
Assist with coordination of emergency drills and ensure emergency response equipment is maintained and ready for us.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including conducting ergonomic assessments and supporting efforts related to waste reduction and energy conservation.
Adhere to federal and state regulations.
Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
