About The Position

The EHS student has a unique opportunity to work equally in both an office setting and on the manufacturing plant floor. The student will work as part of a small site-specific Environment, Health & Safety team as well as the Training Coordinator to support environmental and safety initiatives for the site, taking direction from the Plant 22 EH&S team as well as administrative support for training records. To help drive a focus toward sustainable practices, the successful candidate will assist with identifying and implementing best practices for reduction of waste, water use and energy consumption. The successful candidate will also be providing support for EH&S programs related to risk identification and mitigation, including ergonomics and chemical exposures. Work may include leading projects with such focus as wastewater discharge compliance, worker chemical exposures, carbon footprint reduction, and overall risk reduction initiatives. The student may be assisting with development of business case documents for proposed capital projects related to environment, health and safety, including initial data gathering, communicating with potential vendors, preparing budget estimates, project scheduling, and writing proposals.
