About The Position

Cargill is seeking motivated, curious, and driven individuals for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Associate role. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and lead projects focused on improving workplace safety, environmental performance, and regulatory compliance. It is designed as more than an entry-level role, providing opportunities to develop technical expertise, influence operations, and build leadership skills within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Requirements

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, ergonomics/human factors, occupational safety, environmental sciences, fire safety, safety, or related degree graduating between December 2026 and May 2027.
  • Must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate to either Butler, WI, Friona, TX, Blair, NE or Hutchinson, KS.
  • Proven ability to work optimally with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures.
  • Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects that improve safety, environmental performance, and operational excellence.
  • Build and maintain emergency response programs, coordinate drills, and help ensure site readiness.
  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs that help employees work safely and confidently.
  • Participate in incident investigations to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
  • Support company audits, government inspections, and customer visits.
  • Use data and analytics to identify trends, measure performance, and drive improvements.
  • Partner with contractors and service providers to ensure safe work practices and effective risk controls.
  • Implement programs and processes that identify hazards and reduce risk across the facility.
  • Work with experienced EHS professionals for mentorship and development.
  • Contribute to a culture where everyone goes home safe, every day.
