About The Position

The EHS Supervisor provides strategic and operational leadership for the division’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs. This role champions a plant-wide safety and environmental culture by setting direction, driving engagement, and ensuring consistent execution across environmental and safety management systems, training, audits, facility support and community outreach. The EHS Supervisor partners with leaders and teammates at all levels to ensure understanding of, and sustained compliance with, federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations. This position delivers effective training programs, assures adherence to key regulatory requirements, leads participation in corporate EHS initiatives and has accountability for safety and environmental operations. The EHS Supervisor directly supervises the Safety, Health and Environmental Coordinators, setting clear expectations, coaching performance and developing capability within these roles to strengthen overall site performance. The EHS Supervisor is also responsible for overseeing and coordinating the on-site security and contractor management program. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • At least three years of Occupational Safety or Environmental experience in an industrial setting
  • Leadership experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

Nice To Haves

  • First Responder/EMT Certification
  • Safety or Environmental degree
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment operations
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, including industrial hygiene and testing
  • Working knowledge of NYDEC standards and compliance
