About The Position

Fenner Precision Polymers is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to support and lead key initiatives within our Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) programs. This role plays a critical part in maintaining regulatory compliance, strengthening our safety culture, and driving continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations. The position reports to the EHS Manager.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of EHS experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and frontline employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Heath & Safety or a related field preferred.
  • Professional certification preferred or actively pursuing (e.g., ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate EHS activities within assigned facilities.
  • Conduct safety audits, observations, and safety walks.
  • Support emergency preparedness, including emergency response teams and first-aid responders.
  • Conducts routine environmental inspections related to air quality, stormwater and hazardous waste management.
  • Maintain required EHS documentation, permits, logs, and databases with accuracy and integrity.
  • Participate in (or lead, depending on level) incident and near-miss investigations and corrective action tracking.
  • Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs).
  • Support and deliver EHS training such as new-hire orientation, toolbox talks, hazard communication, PPE, and other safety topics.
  • Promote a zero-incident culture through engagement, communication, and coaching.
  • Assist in ISO 14001 Environmental Management System activities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations.
  • Initiate and support workers’ compensation claims.
  • Conduct independent EHS inspections and audits.
  • Develop, implement, and improve site-level EHS programs (e.g., LOTO, confined space, contractor safety).
  • Independently lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments and regulatory compliance evaluations.
  • Deliver formal EHS training to employees and supervisors.
  • Interface with regulators, inspectors, and internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Lead and manage EHS programs at the site level.
  • Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
