The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program Manager provides leadership and oversight for environmental health, safety, and regulatory compliance programs across Akron General and affiliated southern region hospitals, including Lodi, Medina, Mercy, and Union. Working closely with a team of EHS Associates, this role oversees construction and renovation safety processes, reviews and evaluates project plans, manages fire and life safety programs, and ensures compliance with hazardous materials regulations and permitting requirements. Responsibilities also include supporting industrial hygiene and indoor air quality initiatives, investigating OSHA-related incidents and compliance concerns, conducting environmental and safety assessments, and partnering with operational leaders to mitigate risk across multiple facilities. The Program Manager plays a key role in continuous regulatory readiness efforts, leading environmental and safety rounds, supporting Joint Commission preparedness, and driving initiatives that promote a safe environment for patients, caregivers, and visitors across the health system. A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 4:30pm or 8:00am to 5:00pm. Further requirements include response to emergencies as needed and occasional travel to surrounding facilities.
