About The Position

Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) are looking for an EHS Manager to provide EHS leadership to the site and to be accountable for directing EHS activities at the location. To establish EHS objectives and targets, internal reporting of EHS performance and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. The EHS Manager will support the implementation and operation of the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental management system including Risk assessments Inspections Incident investigations Internal and external auditing Lagging and leafing metrics Training and development Employee engagement Championing the safety culture at the site through coaching and influencing the leadership team to achieve appliance external and internal standards Leading continuous improvement in EHS through risk and environmental impact reduction at the site to ensure compliance with regulatory, company standards and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in industrial safety, industrial hygiene, environmental sciences or related field
  • 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Familiarity with pertinent regulations including OSHA, EPA, DOT, as well as federal, state, and local EHS regulations
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization; manage, consult, gain buy-in, and make key decisions based on employee welfare, legal requirements, and business objectives
  • A demonstrated ability to lead and influence at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and track those projects to completion
  • Can demonstrate the following leadership attributes: Ethical, Passionate, Accountable, Learner, and Transparent.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree
  • 5+ years’ experience of increasing responsibilities in EHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations
  • Professional certification such as CSP or CIH.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the site external certifications
  • Ensuring EHS metrics are reported accurately and on time
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance through regular reviews
  • Managing applicable air, water and waste disposal applications for operational permits from the federal, state and local authorities
  • Developing annual objectives and targets
  • Determining appropriate lagging and leading metrics to measure objectives and targets
  • Oversee the safety, health and environmental policies of the plant in conjunction with the Eaton Corporation guidelines, for the purpose of making the facility a safe and productive place to work while keeping in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations
  • Creating and facilitating EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees to achieve the annual objectives
  • Creating training matrices and ensuring all EHS training needs are defined and tracked to completion
  • Work with the site leadership team to ensure that all EHS operational controls are in place and are tracked
