Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related disciplines
  • Computer/Data Entry skills
  • Communication: Interacting with workers, management, and regulatory agencies.
  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge of engineering principles and safety regulations.
  • Written/Report writing skills.
  • Good Interpersonal skills
  • Verbal Communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Auditing Experience
  • Ability to regularly walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs/ladders, and access manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory, and facility areas as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work in environments that may include moving equipment, chemicals, noise, odors, and other manufacturing/facility-related conditions.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company requirements.
  • Partner with site leadership to promote a safe work environment and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Monitor changes in EHS regulations and recommend updates to policies, procedures, and site practices as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable environmental and safety regulations.
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits, and reporting activities, and maintain required records and documentation.
  • Conduct routine compliance assessments to identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform risk assessments, hazard analyses, and job safety evaluations for equipment, processes, and work areas.
  • Identify potential safety and environmental risks and develop mitigation plans to reduce or eliminate exposure.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and facilities teams to incorporate EHS considerations into new processes, equipment, and workspace changes.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to determine root cause and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track corrective actions through completion and assess effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Analyze incident and safety trend data to recommend proactive improvements.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs, including onboarding, annual refreshers, and role-specific safety training.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives such as safety committees, awareness campaigns, and ergonomics programs.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on safe work practices and regulatory expectations.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections and EHS audits to verify compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate follow-up actions from inspections, audits, and regulatory findings.
  • Support contractor safety oversight and ensure vendors comply with applicable site EHS requirements.
  • Support waste management, recycling, hazardous material handling, and environmental monitoring activities in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain documentation related to environmental permits, inspections, waste disposal, and other required records.
  • Assist in spill prevention, emergency response planning, and environmental incident response activities.
  • Support development and maintenance of emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and business continuity-related safety practices.
  • Coordinate drills and training related to fire safety, evacuation, and emergency response readiness.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements to reduce injury risk and improve employee safety and comfort.
  • Use EHS metrics and trend analysis to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Supervise external contractors.
  • Create and revise Facilities Utility Drawings and equipment qualifications.
