About The Position

The EHS Specialist is responsible for supporting and promoting environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.This role helps maintain a safe workplace by identifying risks, implementing safety initiatives, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance and environmental stewardship.

Requirements

  • Has a Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field, preferred.
  • Possesses 2–5 years of EHS or safety compliance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferred.
  • Can display a strong understanding of OSHA standards and safety compliance requirements.
  • Can conduct root cause analysis and incident investigations.
  • Has strong communication and training facilitation skills.
  • Is detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
  • Can work cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams
  • Has experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting with exposure to operational noise, machinery, and production environments.
  • Able to move up to 50lbs.
  • Possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
  • Can wear PPE.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
  • Is capable of making repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting, and walking up and down stairs.

Nice To Haves

  • Has relevant certifications (such as safety or environmental certifications), a plus.
  • Is knowledgeable of environmental regulations, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs and policies.
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting workplace safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses; documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
  • Supporting safety training programs for employees and leadership.
  • Maintaining required safety documentation, reports, and recordkeeping.
  • Monitoring environmental compliance requirements related to waste, emissions, and chemical management.
  • Participating in safety committee meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting emergency preparedness and response planning.
  • Tracking safety metrics and helping prepare compliance and performance reports.
