About The Position

SKF is a global supplier of bearings and supporting solutions for rotating equipment. In September of 2024, SKF announced the separation of its Automotive business, with the objective to build two world-leading companies. The role you are applying for will be a part of the new company created from the Automotive business. This means you will have the opportunity to be a part of shaping a new company aimed at meeting the needs of the transforming global automotive market. As EHS Coordinator, your mission is to administer safety, health, environmental, and continual improvement programs. In this role, you will partner with local leadership and employees across two US sites to strengthen a proactive safety culture, ensure management system conformance, and drive timely completion of actions that reduce risk and improve performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field, preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant EHS experience in a lab or manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Knowledge and understanding of U.S. safety and environmental regulations.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with all levels of operations.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams toward a common goal.
  • High energy level and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • PC skills, including proficiency in Office 365, Teams, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Training/certifications in ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 (preferred not required).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the safety committee; maintain meeting minutes, follow up on commitments, and support staff to ensure timely closure of action items.
  • Lead Safety Day planning committee, coordinating activities and communications to drive site engagement.
  • Lead emergency drill activities (fire, spill, tornado) for site and drive improvements based on drill outcome and be available for off-hours emergency response if needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state agencies, laws, and regulations and corporate standards.
  • Assist with investigations of site accidents, injuries, and near misses to determine root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Provide documentation to coordinate Worker’s Comp claims with PX.
  • Recommend and support implementation of safety features and controls to reduce employee exposure to chemical, physical, and other hazards, including documentation, training, and enforcement of PPE requirements.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data from incident investigations, inspections, and environmental testing; report results and trends to management as required.
  • Ensure ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Environmental, Health & Safety Management System compliance including participation in audits, safety walks, and continual improvement activities.
  • Complete job safety assessments and EHS evaluations, recommend solutions to remove risk and recommend controls.
  • Develop and deliver training on ISO awareness and safety, health, and environmental topics; track and report completion of required annual training (e.g., hearing protection awareness).
  • Manage the site security plan as it relates to employee building access, and coordinate to ensure new hires receive required safety onboarding and training.
  • Prepare and distribute safety alerts, SHEQ news, and other written communications to support multi-site programs and engagement.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information in systems and on floor.
  • Complete operational safety, health, and environmental audits and routine checks as required (e.g., spill kits, waste storage, eyewash stations).
  • Assist team with implementation of policies, procedures, regulations, and processes associated with operations.
  • Perform light facility maintenance tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.
