This individual will serve a key function in assisting in environmental field work by collecting field data, documenting material handling and disposal, and supporting a dynamic large-scale construction project in Lower Manhattan. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of top-notch professionals and to collaborate and learn from our multi-disciplinary team of site/civil, geotechnical, and environmental professionals on a high-profile project in Lower Manhattan.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent;
HAZWOPER Certification, maintenance of annual physical and respirator fit test, annual HAZWOPER 8 hr. re certification, as required;
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word;
2+ years' prior related experience required;
Strong attention to detail;
Ability to multi-task effectively;
Excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
Ability to work well individually and within groups;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Valid driver's license in good standing;
Availability to work during day (7:00 am to 3:00 pm) or evening (3:00 pm to 11:00 pm) work shifts;
Primary job site will be in Lower Manhattan; applicants should be able to travel to various job sites and spend most, if not all of the work day on-site, as-required.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred;

Responsibilities

Review, interpret and understand community air monitoring data and coordinate response actions with site contractors;
Track and log disposal of excavated materials of varying contaminant profiles and import of environmentally clean backfill
Assist with conducting various types of environmental monitoring (water, air, asbestos, lead) using basic field instruments;
Collaborate with other on-site Langan personnel (e.g., geotechnical inspectors)
Operate and maintain various remedial systems, such as drills, pumps, electrical equipment;
Assemble and maintain field equipment and systems; inspect equipment and troubleshoot as necessary;
Produce timely and detailed service reports; and
Perform other duties as requested.
