This individual will serve a key function in assisting in environmental field work by collecting field data, documenting material handling and disposal, and supporting a dynamic large-scale construction project in Lower Manhattan. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of top-notch professionals and to collaborate and learn from our multi-disciplinary team of site/civil, geotechnical, and environmental professionals on a high-profile project in Lower Manhattan.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • HAZWOPER Certification, maintenance of annual physical and respirator fit test, annual HAZWOPER 8 hr. re certification, as required;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word;
  • 2+ years' prior related experience required;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to multi-task effectively;
  • Excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
  • Ability to work well individually and within groups;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Valid driver's license in good standing;
  • Availability to work during day (7:00 am to 3:00 pm) or evening (3:00 pm to 11:00 pm) work shifts;
  • Primary job site will be in Lower Manhattan; applicants should be able to travel to various job sites and spend most, if not all of the work day on-site, as-required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred;

Responsibilities

  • Review, interpret and understand community air monitoring data and coordinate response actions with site contractors;
  • Track and log disposal of excavated materials of varying contaminant profiles and import of environmentally clean backfill
  • Assist with conducting various types of environmental monitoring (water, air, asbestos, lead) using basic field instruments;
  • Collaborate with other on-site Langan personnel (e.g., geotechnical inspectors)
  • Operate and maintain various remedial systems, such as drills, pumps, electrical equipment;
  • Assemble and maintain field equipment and systems; inspect equipment and troubleshoot as necessary;
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports; and
  • Perform other duties as requested.
