About The Position

WSP has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Field Technician to join our Remediation Program Management (RPM) team based in British Columbia. In this role, you will support a wide range of remediation projects, including work on contaminated and oil and gas sites, while contributing directly to the protection of communities and the environment. You will work alongside a diverse group of engineers, scientists, and technical professionals on meaningful projects across the region.

Requirements

Diploma in environmental or geological technology
Experience with soil and groundwater sampling in field environments
Strong understanding of health and safety requirements and a safety‑conscious mindset
Ability and willingness to work in the field, including remote locations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and ability to work collaboratively in team settings
Valid driver’s licence

Responsibilities

Prepare and adhere to site‑specific health and safety plans to mitigate or eliminate risks to workers, clients, and the public
Conduct fieldwork including groundwater monitoring, soil and groundwater sampling, drilling investigations, and test pit excavations
Maintain accurate and detailed field notes and assist with data entry and report preparation
Identify and report potential and existing site hazards, near‑loss incidents, and loss incidents
Supervise subcontractors performing ground disturbance, drilling, surveying, and groundwater monitoring well installations
Oversee remedial contractors, including directing remedial excavations, waste tracking, and progress reporting
Coordinate project documentation, subcontractors, and equipment required for field programs
Perform assigned work tasks efficiently and accurately while adhering to regulatory and industry standards
