Environmental Escort Associate
About The Position
The Environmental Escort Associate maintains a clean and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and co-workers by performing general cleaning tasks in patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas. The role includes transporting solid waste and certain hazardous or universal waste to designated hospital locations, and using cleaning materials that may be corrosive, flammable, or toxic in concentrated form. The associate performs housekeeping, floor care, isolation cleaning, and discharge cleaning according to procedure, while prioritizing patient needs and following safe work practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Transport solid waste to designated locations and certain hazardous or universal waste from designated hospital locations to the main hospital accumulation area.
- Perform general hospital cleaning using materials that may be corrosive, flammable, or toxic in concentrated form.
- Display a positive team effort.
- Notify the department upon completion of assignments.
- Perform daily duties safely, keeping patient needs first.
- Inform the manager of potential problems or unsafe conditions.
- Perform job duties without direct supervision.
- Burnish and scrub floors as directed.
- Perform isolation cleaning according to procedure.
- Perform discharge cleaning according to procedure.
- Perform housekeeping duties according to procedure.
- Keep the housekeeping cart clean and chemical bottles labeled.
