This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with State and Federal environmental regulations, particularly concerning air quality. The Environmental Engineer will support the Environmental Manager in strategic planning for regulatory initiatives, daily compliance, and the preparation of permit applications and reports. The position involves ensuring all mill operations adhere to environmental laws, consulting on capital projects, assessing permitting needs for process changes, and implementing compliance programs. This includes training operating departments, working with environmental agencies on air issues, preparing permit applications, managing the new chemical approval process, overseeing Safety Data Sheet management, and preparing various environmental regulatory reports. The role also involves supporting other environmental areas, attending training, and contributing to the mill's safety and environmental goals, while effectively managing costs and utilizing the RCFA program for problem-solving.
