About The Position

ASRC Federal NetCentric is seeking an Environmental Engineer to provide support to the United States Space Force (USSF) Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) and Patrick Space Force Base (PSFB). This role involves addressing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)/Cultural Resources, and Natural Resources and Cultural policies, and includes review and initiation tasks for Environmental Baseline Surveys (EBS) as legal exhibits to government real estate grants (leases, licenses, easements, etc.). The position requires a blend of office and field work, with an estimated 60% office and 40% field environment. Field work may involve various outdoor environments, extreme temperatures, uneven terrain, and encounters with insects and wildlife. The role also includes stair climbing and the ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental science, or related engineering or scientific field, plus up to two years of related experience. Equivalent education/ experience is applicable.
  • FL State Driver’s license.
  • Eligibility for installation access – Common Access Card/Secret Clearance
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER
  • SOI minimal qualification Sections 106 and 110

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate preparation and recommendation for DAF Form 813 Request for Environmental Impact Analysis in support of USSF capital improvement and tenant leasing agreements.
  • Review Cultural Resource Firm (CRM) Scope of Work (SOW), and consultation package documents.
  • Provide cultural and NEPA based comments while reviewing capital or facility repair project designs.
  • Assist in the review and development of Environmental Baseline Survey (EBS) and Environmental Assessment (EA) documents.
  • Assist in wildlife response support for nuisance, injured, or deceased wildlife species as required.
  • Review and develop grant/licensing and asset reconciliation/tenancy documents as necessary.
  • Create and ensure all records, working databases are archived to Sustaining Engineering Shared Drive.
  • Compile statistical analysis and generate reports as required.
  • Assist with spill cleanup requirements.
  • Maintain rotating on-call deployment-ready posture 24 hours a day 7 days a week, year-round for land and marine response mobilization deployment, clean up, waste disposition and assets recovery.
  • Assist and support spill team training, equipment inventories, serviceability checks, procurement/ replenishment needs.
  • Attend SLD 45 Disaster Preparedness Group tabletop and site-specific deployment exercises when scheduled/requested.
  • May be asked to support hurricane preparation and recovery activities.
  • Provide weekly updates of environmental support activities.
