About The Position

The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) is hiring an Environmental Engineer on a temporary basis of up to 2 years in our Health, Safety, Security, & Environment (HSSE) team. This position requires on-site work and is based in Regina, SK. We operate a world-class refinery that utilizes cutting-edge technology to produce 130,000 barrels of refined petroleum products per day and an annual production capacity of 6.8 billion liters. As one of Canada’s largest refineries we employee over 1,000 people. We are looking for someone who has experience with coordinating and carrying out environmental programs and activities to ensure that the Complex is operated in compliance with the applicable environmental regulations and ensure that all regulatory and permitting requirements are met.

Requirements

• 3-6 years relevant experience in an engineering role.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead environmental programs and activities to ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
• Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with internal stakeholders and environmental regulators.
• Ensure we are operating in compliance with environmental regulations by contributing to, coordinating, and carrying out environmental programs and activities, executing procedures for collection and collation of environmental controls and monitoring the operations.
• Act as an environmental subject matter expert for projects ensuring the compliance with environmental regulations.
• Ensure all environmental reporting is performed, as required by the City of Regina, Environment Canada, and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment.
