Our Chicago, Illinois office has an opening for a self-motivated engineer with 0 to 5 years of experience to work on studies, strategic plans, and design projects related to drinking water and solids and energy projects. The primary focus of this position is to serve municipal clients throughout Illinois and southern Wisconsin, with additional opportunities to collaborate on projects across Brown and Caldwell. In this position, you will help support and deliver exceptional service to our well-established wastewater/biosolids clients, while also supporting the development of new relationships in the region. JOB SUMMARY The Environmental Engineer role will support a broad range of tasks related to the analysis, planning, and development of solutions that promote environmental protection, water use sustainability, and responsible water resource management. Working under the close supervision of a professional engineer, this role will contribute to technical work that improves environmental and public health outcomes across natural and engineered systems. This engineering position will address environmental and public health protection, mitigation and prevention degradation of water, soils, air quality, and habitats. This role may work in one or more diverse areas including water and wastewater treatment and conveyance, stormwater management, solid waste management, hazardous waste management and related areas. This role may conduct analysis, planning, modeling and design of treatment systems, providing results, recommendations, plan sets, or other engineering deliverables.
