About The Position

This role supports the implementation of environmental standards and policies, and performs environmental impact assessments for proposed operational changes. The position involves developing and proposing permit strategies, completing permit applications for manufacturing and non-manufacturing sites, and supporting environmental functions related to EEMS requirements. The work primarily supports highly regulated sites on the west coast, including California and Oregon, and involves collaboration with Production Engineering groups on changes, modifications, and launches. Environmental assessments are required for any modifications involving capital investment. The role evaluates environmental impacts such as stormwater, wastewater, and chemical impacts, and secures necessary permits. A key aspect is monitoring regulatory changes in California and ensuring compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree – Science related field (Environmental/ Biology, Chemical etc.)
  • Experience supporting manufacturing and non-manufacturing sites on the west coast (California & Oregon)
  • Experience working with Production Engineering groups on changes, modifications, and launches
  • Ability to evaluate environmental impacts (stormwater, wastewater, chemical)
  • Understanding of permitting processes
  • Familiarity with regulatory policies, particularly in California

Responsibilities

  • Support Environmental standard and policy implementation
  • Perform proposed operational change Environmental impact assessments including direction feedback to requestor
  • Develop and propose permit strategy to support proposed projects and operational changes
  • Complete permit applications on behalf of manufacturing sites and/or LDS sites
  • Support environmental functions related to EEMS requirements and confirm understanding by local environmental support
  • Evaluate every environmental impact such as stormwater impact, wastewater impact, chemical impact, etc.
  • Secure permits depending on the environmental impact identified
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with regulations, especially in California
