The Public Drinking Water Program is seeking an Environmental Engineer who is passionate about protecting public health through safe and reliable drinking water. This role involves reviewing and providing input on public drinking water projects from planning through permitting. The engineer will collaborate with internal programs such as Operations, Compliance, Capacity Development, and Water Resources to assist communities in implementing sustainable, resilient drinking water projects that comply with the Water Supply Rule. This position is ideal for someone driven to apply engineering skills for public health and environmental protection, with a keen eye for detail in reviewing projects related to water sources, storage, transmission, distribution, pumping, and treatment systems. The role requires thriving in a multidisciplinary environment, valuing collaboration, and communicating effectively with internal teams and external partners, while providing patient and supportive technical and regulatory assistance to water systems and their consultants.
