The Public Drinking Water Program is seeking an Environmental Engineer who is passionate about protecting public health through safe and reliable drinking water. This role involves reviewing and providing input on public drinking water projects from planning through permitting, working closely with internal programs like Operations, Compliance, Capacity Development, and Water Resources to help communities implement sustainable, resilient drinking water projects in compliance with the Water Supply Rule. The ideal candidate will be driven to apply engineering skills to protect public health and the environment, possess a keen eye for detail when reviewing projects involving water sources, storage, transmission, distribution, pumping, and treatment systems, and thrive in a multidisciplinary environment. Collaboration, clear communication with internal teams and external partners, and patience and support when providing technical and regulatory assistance to water systems and their consultants are highly valued. Self-motivation, initiative, and a desire to make a difference are also key attributes. This is a limited-service position through September 2027.
