About The Position

The Environmental Engineer I will be responsible for preparing compliance reports, recordkeeping, inspections, and permit applications for Hunt companies. This role involves assisting with environmental notifications to regulatory agencies, managing various compliance programs (Title V, storage tank, fenceline monitoring, internal auditing, agency reporting), and researching environmental regulations. The position also requires supporting and cross-training with other Environmental Department members to ensure continuity of compliance programs and participating in diverse environmental activities such as water compliance sampling, performance testing, LDAR administration, oil spill response, and CEMS oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field
• 2 or more years of related environmental and/or engineering experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)

Responsibilities

• Prepare compliance reports, required recordkeeping, inspections, and permit applications for Hunt companies, including periodic and immediate compliance reports as required by applicable environmental regulations.
• Assist with environmental notifications to regulatory agencies and coordinate timely communication of compliance-related information.
• Manage the Title V, storage tank, fenceline monitoring, internal auditing, and agency reporting compliance programs.
• Research environmental regulations as needed to support compliance determinations, permitting needs, and implementation of existing or developing regulatory requirements.
• Support and cross-train with other members of the Environmental Department to support continuity of environmental compliance programs and assist with department-wide compliance responsibilities as needed.
• Participate in other Environmental Department activities such as water compliance sampling and monitoring, performance testing, Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) administration, oil spill response activity, CEMS oversight, and other environmental activities as needed.
