About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an Entry-Level Geologist or Engineer for its Resilience Environment team in Salt Lake City, UT. This role offers significant mentorship and professional growth opportunities within a supportive team environment. The position involves a mix of field and office work, with an estimated 50% to 75% of time spent in the field, particularly during the initial years. The role may also involve supporting Arcadis' National emergency response teams for unforeseen incidents, which could require unanticipated travel and work outside standard business hours. Travel expenses are reimbursable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Engineering, or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in planning and executing geotechnical and hydrology instrumentation installation oversight and troubleshooting.
  • Assisting with environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
  • Providing assistance with geochemistry laboratory and research and development (R&D) experiments.
  • Conducting fieldwork including site inspections, drilling/well installation oversight, soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, and operation/maintenance of remediation systems.
  • Overseeing drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation.
  • Performing groundwater sampling.
  • Providing subcontractor oversight.
  • Conducting vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys.
  • Assisting with on-site laboratory tasks for geochemistry studies.
  • Task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, work plan development, development of laboratory bench test evaluation and pilot test designs, technical report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts.
  • Collaborating with multiple engineering disciplines, hydrologists, and geologists on relevant project work.
  • Supporting National emergency response teams for rapid protection of human health and the environment, potentially requiring unanticipated travel and work outside standard business hours.
