About The Position

TRC is actively seeking a mid-level Geologist, Environmental Scientist or Environmental Engineer for employment in our Clifton Park, NY office. This position will support our Engineering, Construction and Remediation Practice with the completion of environmental investigation and remediation projects, primarily at inactive hazardous waste and petroleum/chemical spill sites. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science or Civil/Chemical/Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• 5-10 years of experience in environmental consulting including investigation and remediation projects is required.
• Demonstrated experience performing and managing environmental site investigations and remedial investigations at inactive hazardous waste and petrochemical spill sites.
• Strong understanding of environmental sampling methods and field procedures.
• Experience interpreting environmental data and preparing technical reports.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and technical writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple work assignments, work independently, and collaborate effectively within project teams.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, transportation and be able to pass a pre-employment motor vehicle records check.
• Ability to drive, travel and perform field work away from home, office, and in outdoor environments.
• Candidates are required to successfully pass a drug test prior to employment or within five working days from date of hire.
• Experience with Microsoft Office; especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.

Nice To Haves

• New York State professional license (PE or PG), or progress toward obtaining professional license/certification is desirable but not required.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate (with an up to date 8-hour annual refresher course certification) are desirable but not required.
• Familiarity with remedial systems, vapor intrusion evaluations, and long-term monitoring projects.
• Experience performing environmental compliance assessments, and hazardous building materials assessments and sampling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain health and safety compliance in the field.
• Support and execute environmental investigation and remediation projects.
• Apply knowledge of regulations, rules, guidelines, techniques and standard operating procedures during fieldwork activities.
• Implement field activities including soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, air, and soil vapor sampling programs.
• Oversee soil boring advancement, test pit excavation and monitoring well installation, development and sampling.
• Assist with implementation of aquifer and pilot testing programs.
• Oversee remedial actions and conduct routine operation and maintenance activities at various project sites.
• Interpret environmental data and prepare technical evaluations, figures, and data tables.
• Assist with the preparation of work plans, sampling and quality assurance plans, investigation reports, corrective action or remedial action plans, closure reports and regulatory correspondences.
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and task management.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, laboratories, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Mentor junior staff and support technical development across project teams.
• Participate in project meetings.
• Interact with colleagues, clients, regulators, public, vendors, and subcontractors and follow corporate standards.
