About The Position

The Just Markets Institute is seeking an Environmental Economist Intern for their 2025 Spring Student Internship Program. This program is designed to give students an opportunity to showcase their abilities while contributing to positive global change. The internships are project-based, aligning with the requirements of spring internship courses. Each intern will be paired with a volunteer mentor for guidance. The Educational Team consists of seven interns, covering six categories of economics (Environmental Economics, Industrial Organization, Time Economics, Game Theory, Development Economics, and Economic Anthropology), plus an Education Intern. Together, they will develop introductory courses for each topic, with interns free to choose their preferred educational medium. The Environmental Economics Project specifically involves creating an introductory course on Environmental Economics, focusing on Externalities, Resource Management, Pigovian Tax, and Cap and Trade. The project is flexible to meet internship course requirements.

Requirements

• Must have taken or be currently taking an Environmental Economics course.
• Past experience teaching a topic for a school project.

Nice To Haves

• A passion for the importance of Environmental Economics.
• Personal project experience outside of school.
• Created educational media for others to consume.

Responsibilities

• Create an introductory Environmental Economics course through the medium of your choice.
• Focus on Externalities, Resource Management, Pigovian Tax, and Cap and Trade.
• Ensure the project is flexible to meet the requirements of your internship course.
