Terracon is experiencing significant growth and is seeking a dynamic environmental department leader for its local office. This role involves leading and growing the environmental business line for the area, which includes site assessment/remediation, ecology, and cultural resources. The department works on diverse projects such as wetland permitting/delineation, threatened & endangered species surveys, cultural resource studies, industrial hygiene, environmental site assessment, remediation, redevelopment, and site renovation for various public and private sector clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Texas regulatory programs (TCEQ, RRC, TRRP) and federal regulations (RCRA, CERCLA, CWA, CAA, TSCA). This career-level position requires strong operational management and leadership skills to oversee a department of 10-15 employees and manage annual revenues exceeding $4.0 million. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, coordinating site testing, developing analytical testing plans, making design recommendations, identifying and evaluating risks, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The role also involves leading the department through a formal growth plan, promoting training, and coordinating staff workload, with a paramount focus on safety.
