About The Position

This role involves ensuring environmental compliance within the petroleum business. The specialist will conduct site inspections, manage permit applications, oversee waste management, and develop environmental programs and policies. This position requires strong communication with governmental agencies and internal staff, as well as the ability to balance company needs with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Operator AB Certified in CT and MA required.
  • Knowledge of tank systems and piping systems required.
  • Sound knowledge of environmental programs and proceedings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with environmental regulating authorities.
  • Critical reviewing skills for analysis.
  • Ability to develop technical reports on conducted research.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or in other relevant subjects like physical science or environmental engineering strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Titan or similar programs and tank gauging systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performing site inspections and verify site compliance as required by company guidelines
  • Complete and file permit applications in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist and verify inventory reconciliations / 7 day reports
  • Follow up on inspections and testing to ensure compliance with all required tests
  • Communicate with governmental agencies on inspections or requests for documentation
  • Developing compliance program in accordance with the petroleum business
  • Coordinating and collaborating with the staff and management of each site to ensure site compliance
  • Plan, prepare, and develop the environmental programs and policies for the company
  • Balancing the needs of the company while keeping it in accordance with the regulatory authorities
  • Assisting in preparing reports, documents, and other compliance materials
  • Monitoring the waste management program, overseeing its disposal and treatment activities, and managing the safety precautions for avoiding the hazardous situation
  • Providing technical assistance and training materials to managers and other operating staff, updating them on environmental standardization procedures, regulatory requirements, and work hazards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
