About The Position
This position is changed with the cleanliness of the facility and includes high dusting, damp dusting, dust mopping, wet and dry mopping, vacuuming and carpet cleaning, floor stripping and refinishing, waste handling.
Requirements
- Minimum of one-year experience as a housekeeping cleaner in an institutional, commercial or healthcare facility
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Working knowledge of applicable sanitation and safety standards related to the department
- Observe all aspects of resident safety at all times
- Ability to learn and apply proper body mechanics, being able to bend, stoop, kneel, stretch over and under furnishings and building fixtures
- Ability to work from and climb stepladders
- Maintain a high standard of service and cleanliness
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in English; both orally and in writing
- Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check
