About The Position

Winter Environmental is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale asbestos abatement, lead remediation, mold remediation, interior demolition, and specialty environmental projects throughout the Southeast and Eastern United States. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in asbestos, demolition, environmental services, or regulated construction work who are looking to grow into a Project Management leadership role. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, field teams, subcontractors, and clients to safely execute technically challenging projects in active industrial, commercial, healthcare, and institutional environments. We are looking for organized, driven professionals who understand production-driven work, regulated environments, and fast-paced project execution. Travel is required. Company-paid travel expenses and per diem are provided when applicable.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in asbestos abatement, demolition, environmental remediation, construction, or related project coordination roles
  • Strong understanding of regulated construction environments and safety requirements
  • Experience coordinating field crews, subcontractors, or vendors
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Bluebeam
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in the execution of asbestos abatement, lead remediation, mold remediation, and interior demolition projects
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and logistics coordination
  • Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
  • Track RFIs, submittments, permits, waste documentation, manifests, and project reporting
  • Support project safety, compliance, and quality control efforts
  • Assist with change orders, cost tracking, forecasting, and invoicing
  • Participate in site visits, client meetings, and field coordination activities
  • Coordinate with consultants, industrial hygienists, inspectors, and regulatory agencies
  • Support project closeout, documentation, and turnover activities
