About The Position

Aquatic Vegetation Control, Inc. (AVC) is hiring Environmental Applicators and Crew Supervisors to support aquatic vegetation management and environmental restoration projects throughout Broward County and surrounding areas. AVC is a stable, employee-owned company that has been serving Florida for forty years. No aquatic vegetation management experience is required. We provide paid training and will help qualified employees obtain their Florida pesticide applicator license. Environmental Applicators work independently to manage invasive vegetation while helping protect South Florida's lakes, canals, wetlands, and waterways. Responsibilities include applying herbicides safely and responsibly to control invasive vegetation, working independently while managing assigned routes and daily responsibilities, operating company trucks, boats, trailers, and specialized application equipment, inspecting and maintaining assigned equipment, completing daily application records and reports, and following environmental regulations and company safety procedures. Crew Supervisors lead and work alongside field crews performing aquatic vegetation management and environmental restoration projects. Responsibilities include leading daily field operations and coordinating work assignments, promoting a safe, productive work environment, working alongside crew members throughout the day, ensuring quality standards are met, completing daily reports and communicating with Project Managers, and helping develop and mentor crew members.

Requirements

  • Dependable, safety-minded individuals
  • Comfortable working outdoors in Florida's heat, humidity, and changing weather conditions
  • Valid Florida driver's license with a good driving record
  • Willingness to obtain an FDACS pesticide applicator license within six months (training provided)
  • Ability to pass a background check
