About The Position

LaBella is seeking an early-career Environmental Analyst with 0-3 years of experience to join our Environmental Division’s Due Diligence Program in our Buffalo, NY office. Our Due Diligence Program is a leading practice in the eastern United States and is expanding. We serve a diverse client base including municipalities, developers, attorneys, and financial institutions, offering client-centric solutions. Beyond environmental due diligence, our program provides construction risk due diligence services such as Property Condition Assessments, Plan and Cost Reviews, and Construction Draw Inspections. This role offers significant professional growth opportunities within a dynamic and expanding program, working alongside experienced environmental professionals in the industry.

Requirements

  • BS in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field of study.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced due diligence team environment.
  • Good verbal, technical writing, communication, and time management skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Quire or other report writing software platforms is a plus.
  • Experience (1-3 years) with environmental and construction-related due diligence projects such as Phase I ESAs, Transaction Screen ESAs, Phase II ESAs, Property Condition Assessments, and/or Draw Inspections is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Transaction Screen ESAs, and Records Search with Risk Assessment (RSRA) reports with support from senior staff/Project Managers.
  • Assist in completing Property Condition Assessments, Plan and Cost Reviews, and Construction Draw Inspections with support from Construction Risk senior staff.
  • Conduct site visits throughout western New York, including the Buffalo and Rochester metropolitan areas, for environmental and construction-related due diligence projects.
  • Obtain, review, and interpret historical, regulatory, and municipal records.
  • Report findings to due diligence team leaders and assist in evaluating environmental and construction-related risks.
  • Independently manage due diligence assignments and meet project deliverable schedules.
