About The Position

Responsible for development and implementation of processes required to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations. This role will provide support to Entergy’s growth strategy through proactive engagement and environmental risk management.

Requirements

  • Minimum education required for the position Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or other science-related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.
  • Analyst I-II: 0 - 2 years experience handling environmental compliance activities
  • Analyst III: 3 - 5 years experience handling environmental compliance activities
  • Analyst Senior: 5 - 6 years experience handling environmental compliance activities
  • Applicant must be physically able to conduct field environmental investigations of sites where access may be restricted due to debris accumulations.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Self starter and requires little or no supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight to vendors conducting ecological impact evaluations of Entergy projects for construction projects including but not limited to permit acquisition (air permits, storm water general/industrial permit, wetland permits, commenting agency correspondence required as a condition of issuance (USEPA, USFWS, NOAA, SHPO and state regulatory agencies), work plan development (spoil management, environmental impact avoidance, stream crossing, equipment management), and site inspection (permit compliance and pollution prevention inspections).
  • Responsible for ensuring that all environmental requirements are met during new generation unit commissioning and operational readiness reviews are met according to schedule.
  • Conduct Phase I and II due diligence investigations associated with real estate transactions.
  • Interface with needed regulatory agencies to ensure proper permitting.
  • Provide guidance and support to key internal stakeholders regarding environmental issues.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with site specific environmental permits and plans.
  • Participate as a team member of the Environmental Management system outage emergency operations and restoration organization for major storm events.
  • Provide management and oversight of emergency environmental permitting for construction efforts.
  • Monitor environmental laws and regulations for changes that may impact Entergy work practices and assist in developing regulatory compliance strategies.
  • Communicating issues by presentations and writing and distributing concise, timely and accurate summaries, reviewing routine reports for facility staff and negotiating with state/federal agencies on the Company’s behalf to arrive at a favorable solution.
