The Waste Management and Prevention Division of the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detailed-oriented individual to fill an Environmental Analyst IV position in the Hazardous Materials Program. This position will work alongside an experienced technical team and conduct independent environmental compliance inspections for hazardous waste management and underground fuel storage tanks, as well as review and issue construction permits. The Program currently regulates over 3,000 facilities that generate hazardous waste and approximately 750 underground storage tank facilities, such as gas stations; these facilities are located throughout the State. This position is critically important to Vermont's environment and public health by preventing releases of hazardous materials and leaks from underground storage tanks to the environment. This position requires state-wide travel to a variety of Vermont businesses and offers the ability to create your own field schedule. The position will involve both field compliance work and office work. This position is based in Montpelier. Submitting a cover letter that outlines the applicant's qualification for and interest in the position is strongly encouraged.
