About The Position

The environmental aide is responsible for providing daily cleans, discharge cleans, linen and waste collection. EA's are responsible for working in conjunction with clinical partners to ensure patient spaces are cleaned on a daily basis as well making sure discharge cleans are done in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Ability to work closely with staff on the unit including ability to accept assignments, delegation, requests and follow instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and other members of the healthcare team, both verbal and written
• Ability to set and adjust priorities and organize work in response to unit needs
• Ability to use domestic and commercial cleaning equipment and to work with cleaning agents and germicides
• Ability to stand for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending, pushing and lifting using good body mechanics

Nice To Haves

• Previous cleaning or healthcare experience an asset
