About The Position

The environmental aide is responsible for providing daily cleans, discharge cleans, linen and waste collection. EA's are responsible for working in conjunction with clinical partners to ensure patient spaces are cleaned on a daily basis as well making sure discharge cleans are done in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12 education
• Demonstrates ability to accept assignments, delegation, requests and follow instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the health care team, both verbal and written
• Ability to use commercial cleaning equipment and to work with cleaning agents
• Good physical condition. Ability to stand for long periods, repetitive reaching, bending, climbing step ladder, pushing and lifting using good body mechanics
• Ability to demonstrate attributes that contributes to a respectful caring environment
• Ability to set priorities and organize work in response to department needs

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a hospital or health care setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Providing daily cleans, discharge cleans, linen and waste collection.
• Working in conjunction with clinical partners to ensure patient spaces are cleaned on a daily basis.
• Making sure discharge cleans are done in a timely manner.
• Working on an active nursing floor, dealing with isolation procedures.
• Training for laundry and janitorial pooling as required.
