About The Position

The Environmental Services Aide assists with patient care in operating and procedure rooms, including transporting, lifting, and positioning patients for surgery. The role supports operating-room turnovers by cleaning and assisting with general errands as requested by the team leader and/or charge nurses. It also maintains the facility’s general cleanliness and upkeep.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of job-related experience in an inpatient or outpatient surgery center.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with room turnovers, including cleaning furniture and equipment.
• Remove soiled laundry and empty trash receptacles.
• Provide stretchers for patient transportation as needed.
• Restock scrub sink supplies, hair and shoe coverings, masks, and other needed PPE supplies.
• Keep areas and departments orderly and organized.
• Perform daily and weekly supply inventory and notify appropriate personnel of items to order.
• Assist with inventory management as assigned.
• Assist with transporting, lifting, and positioning patients for surgery.
• Perform general errands as requested by the team leader and/or charge nurses.
• Maintain the facility’s general cleanliness and upkeep.
